Moving on......

........ is never easy, even painful but what happiness or art for that matter is ever achieved without some pain?

My show

Finally an exhibition. Titled "Femme, a perspective through the lens". Here are few of my works on show at the Gallery RAW. I am sharing the walls with 3 other fine photographers. All females.

A little less conversation and a little more action

From here on in I will be endeavoring to post multiple images from particular shoots instead of just one image. If you go back through all the old stuff over the next few weeks you might find that I have added a few too. One of the main reasons for this blog is to exhibit my work, using it for a showcase and portfolio for prospective collaborators and models (one and the same really) and what better way to start than to feature the famous Kitty.

Introducing Mya

Mya, looking all native and on top of the situation here for her first shoot, she is a natural and I look forward to many more. Sorry for lack of blog entries but other more pressing issues, all photography related, have had my attention. I'm back now to the real stuff so more soon.

Enjoyment

I actually got to do some fun stuff last weekend. A shoot was all lined up with new model Krista (pictured here) at Redhead Beach but the day dawned rainy so we returned to the studio and started work on this idea that I have had for a while now which involves shooting through a wet sheet of glass. Nothing ground breaking in this idea but I thought Krista would suit the shot to a tee and I was very pleased with what resulted. Rosie turned up during the shoot and added her "fluffer" expertise and various other poses and styles were concocted on the spot. We were firing on all 6 cylinders by now and the shoot lasted for hours.

Roped In

Studio work can be fun but I really hate the lighting part and I guess it shows huh?
Studio G has been getting a work out lately with more stuff on the boil over the next 2 weeks. I was out there this evening working on some DIY lighting systems when my mind started to wander to other ideas like putting up a wall here, moving some shelving there etc. and I think it will work and still have room for the car. Of course the car will have to languish outside during shoots but that won't hurt it.

Back to the subject of lighting. I guess I'll just have to persevere. Practice makes perfect or so they say.

Why the cryptic title you ask. It has no relevance other than to accompany the image here of LeeAnne in Studio G a few weeks back.

More about me (tagged by Kelly)

The immensely talented local photographer Kelly Munce (watch this space, more about her later) tagged me recently on her blog

http://kellymuncephotography.blogspot.com

The rules are I have to say six quirky things about myself, then tag 6 others, and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they've been "tag'd"

Righty oh here we go.

1. I collect Japanese geisha dolls.

2. I can't walk by an open book or magazine store without going inside.

3. I'm Australia's biggest fan of Captain Scarlet (the original episodes)

4. I'm Australia's biggest fan of Shintaro the Samurai (hence the dolls I suppose)

5. I have 11 mirrors (including 2 very big ones) in my small 3 bedroom home but I tend to avoid looking into them unless I really have to.

6. I am scared of the deep. (water)

OK I usually don't like these type of chain things but this grabbed my attention and it seemed that I'd look like a bad sport if I didn't play. I hope I don't piss off the tagees listed below. At worst I guess this is a way of adding another link to their pages I guess.

They are, in no particular order..........

Sorry these links aren't direct, blogger won't allow it for some reason.

Enough about me, I'll talk about more interesting stuff next time I promise.
