Of late

Sorry for my lack of posts of late.

Not that I haven't been viewing others, in fact I think I'm at a stage (again) where I am looking at too many other artist's works. There is so much out there and of such good quality that the mind boggles. It's great to view other work but it can sometimes subliminally influence and that is not a good thing.

That's all for now, not a lot to tell.

My next post will be more meaty (no pun intended).

Here we find Rosie taken last month in studio G.

New stuff

I've been trying a few new things lately, a bit of studio stuff, one light shots and even some outdoor normal work with clothed models no less!

Here are some of the results.

Thanks to Joellen, Mia Nouveau and Rosie

Newcastle Photographic exhibition. 19 local nudes.

The title of this post is another test to see how the search engines work as well as a notice to any local galleries who might like to entertain the idea of exhibiting my work. I know I should be out there flogging my stuff in person but like I said, this is just a test.

Yes an exhibition however small would be nice and I feel that it's about time that I got some stuff on a wall

A portrait of Stazia under black light. No photoshop trickery other than cropping. The body paint works very well with the fluorescent black light tubes that we used on the day. The shoot was extremely difficult as it is all done in near darkness and focusing is a nightmare, that along with an extreme iso number surprised me at the number of decent results we got.

Stazia, Mia and myself checked out a great local rain forest location just minutes from deep suburbia yesterday. Look forward to a dual model shoot coming up soon.

Audacious

Upon reflection I seem rather underwhelmed in that last post. Well,in this post I am equally overwhelmed by this rather audacious shot of Mia Nouveau taken in the very early hours of what must be the quietest night of the year. This shot was taken on the bridge that leads to Carrington, an inner city suburb of Newcastle. I do like it.

I made the cover.

Maybe not exactly how I envisaged my first work in print but I shouldn't complain should I.

I was recently contacted by my friend Peita who excitedly informed me that we had made the cover of Kink-E magazine. I had never heard of this little underground Melbourne based mag until that day. I guess the wording on the cover tells you what it is all about. After going through it I see that it is mainly a magazine full of party shots and ads regarding the cultures mentioned. We (Talpas work is included but not credited as well) also got the centre spread and a few pages either side. One small gripe, no real mention of who the photographers are (but that might be a good thing). It says "photography spankalot" there down in the corner. That was a mistake by the the publishers, that title is Peita's email address. Her gallery and art space goes under the business name of SPaNK aLT aRT SPaCe and they didn't even get that right. oh well, maybe I might be more enthusiastic when I get published for real. A lot of people around me are excited but I'm having trouble taking this little lot seriously.

At least Peita got some good free advertising and you get to see Brooke, Kitty and Peita in a shot I haven't shown before.

He's back !

My absence is over.

No excuses, no explanations.

I am back with a new energy and more than a few new ideas. Hopefully some of you old friends are still out there.

Seen here is Stazia doing what she does so well...................FIRE.
